Villa Park was, for many years, an agricultural area producing, in turn, grapes, walnuts, apricots, and finally, citrus, which was the major crop for about 60 years and is most closely associated with its development. It was the citrus ranchers and their families who molded Villa Park into a vital community.

Located in central Orange County, it has an area of 2.1 square miles, a population of 6,500, approximately 1,900 homes, and is almost 99% built out. With the exception of one shopping center, the City is zoned for single-family residences, most of which are on half-acre lots. The shopping center includes a grocery store, banks, a pharmacy with a postal substation, a variety of specialty shops and offices, the City Hall and community room, and a branch of the Orange County Public Library.

Villa Park is one of Orange County's smallest cities. It has been written up in several newspapers as one of 300 of the wealthiest in the U.S. It also prides itself as being one of the friendliest towns in America. The people who live here have a wide range of backgrounds, interests and occupations. All of the schools have had higher than normal test scores and have distinguished themselves as excellent schools.

Villa Park is a very family oriented community with active participation in children's sports, such as Little League, Bobby Sox, Basketball League, Swimming and Water Polo. Attractive, quiet neighborhoods, four schools within walking distance, and the lowest crime rate in the county, the founders of Villa Park wanted to establish a low key, rural atmosphere and this tradition has been followed through the years.
